Dapitan City, Zamboanga del Norte – The Department of the Interior and Local Government (DILG) Region IX participated in the PhALGA Awarding Ceremony recognizing Local Government Units (LGUs) conferred with the Seal of Good Local Governance (SGLG) on May 19, 2026 at Dakak Beach Resort, Dapitan City, Zamboanga del Norte.

The awarding ceremony, organized by the Philippine Association of Local Government Accountants, Inc. (PhALGA), honored LGUs for their exemplary performance and unwavering commitment to promoting transparency, accountability, and excellence in public service.

Attending the activity was LGOO VI Elmer L. Egama, Officer-in-Charge (OIC) – Local Government Monitoring and Evaluation Division (LGMED) Chief of DILG Region IX. The event gathered government officials, local functionaries, and stakeholders in celebrating the achievements of LGUs that successfully met the standards of the Seal of Good Local Governance (SGLG).

The ceremony highlighted the importance of responsive leadership, transparent operations, and accountable governance in delivering quality public service to communities. It also served as a venue to recognize the continuing efforts of local government units in upholding the principles of “Matino, Mahusay, at Maaasahang” governance.

Through its participation in activities that promote excellence in local governance, DILG Region IX continues to reaffirm its commitment to supporting initiatives that strengthen institutional integrity, enhance public service delivery, and inspire LGUs to sustain high standards of governance across the region.
