Kabasalan, Zamboanga Peninsula – The Department of the Interior and Local Government (DILG) Region IX, through the Project Development and Management Unit (PDMU), conducted the final and follow-up inspection and documentation of the FY 2024 Local Government Support Fund – Support to Barangay Development Program (LGSF-SBDP) projects in the Municipality of Kabasalan, Zamboanga Sibugay on March 5–6, 2026.

The activity was led by Regional PDMU personnel Engr. Phoelian Dannie Y. Bargamento, Engineer III, and PEO II Deofie Marxlin M. Santander, together with Engr. Jessan Francis J. Ocampo, Engineer III of DILG Zamboanga Sibugay Province, and Gemma S. Sabdula, MLGOO of Kabasalan, in coordination with concerned LGU functionaries.

The inspection served as a follow-up validation for the projects previously inspected with the LEO70 team on November 10, 2025, to assess the status of compliance with the findings and recommendations raised during the earlier inspection.

During the two-day activity, the team inspected a total of seven (7) SBDP-funded projects located in the barangays of Banker, Concepcion, Palinta, and Buayan in the Municipality of Kabasalan. The activity included site validation, documentation, and assessment of the completed projects to ensure compliance with the approved plans, technical specifications, and guidelines of the LGSF-SBDP. Through the final inspection, the team verified the completion and quality of the projects, which are expected to contribute to improved local infrastructure and the delivery of essential services to the community.

After the inspection, an exit conference was conducted with the concerned LGU representatives wherein the Inspectorate Team presented and discussed the findings and observations from the site validation, providing feedback and recommendations for appropriate actions. The engineers discussed the technical findings and observations noted during the inspection, while PEO II Deofie Marxlin M. Santander also presented the project impacts based on the interviews she conducted with the beneficiaries during the site visits, while the engineers were carrying out the inspection activities.

The activities form part of DILG Region IX’s continuing monitoring and evaluation efforts, conducted in partnership with the Local Government Unit of Kabasalan, to ensure transparency, accountability, and the effective implementation of government-funded development projects.
