Isabela City, Basilan – June 3, 2025 – The Department of the Interior and Local Government (DILG) Region IX, in coordination with the City Government of Isabela and the People’s Council, convened a strategic meeting to jumpstart preparations for the Dagyaw 2025 Town Hall Meeting and the rollout of the Open Government Partnership (OGP) Localization Program. The meeting, held in partnership with Mayor Sitti Djalia Turabin-Hataman, emphasized aligning local efforts with national priorities to promote inclusive and participatory governance.
Dagyaw 2025 is a flagship platform that fosters open dialogue between government and citizens on pressing local issues, while the OGP Localization Program aims to institutionalize transparency, accountability, and civic participation in local government systems. DMO III Febie Marquez presented the objectives of both initiatives, highlighting their importance in building public trust and promoting responsive governance.
The session included planning discussions and an open forum to identify local concerns, finalize event logistics, and strategize community mobilization for the Dagyaw Town Hall. Stakeholders in attendance included City Administrator Pedrito Eisma, City Local Government Operations Officer of Isabela City Arnel O. Alvarez, People’s Council President Rev. Ronald Paulino, CSO Desk Officer Nirhaiya D. Macusang , Local Council of Women President Shiela Pagarigan, and representatives from civil society organizations and local offices.
This engagement marks a significant step in strengthening government-citizen collaboration ahead of the Dagyaw 2025 Town Hall Meeting in Isabela City.
