The Disaster Risk Reduction (DRR) Regional and Alternate Focal Persons from the Department of the Interior and Local Government (DILG) Region IX actively participated in the 1st Semi-Annual Meeting on Disaster Resilience Activities held on June 5-6, 2025 at The Linden Suites, Ortigas Center, Pasig City, Metro Manila.
The two-day meeting served as a vital platform for aligning and sharing updates on Disaster Risk Reduction and Management–Climate Change Adaptation (DRRM-CCA) and other disaster resilience initiatives. The activity featured presentations of best practices and innovations from Central and Regional Offices, briefings on relevant national policies and external initiatives, and collaborative discussions to address field-level challenges. It also facilitated the generation of initial inputs for a more strategic, inclusive, and responsive DRRM implementation plan aligned with the DILG Strategic Plan. The event resulted in a strengthened collective understanding of DRRM-CCA program implementation across DILG operating units and regional offices. Participants also established a shared roadmap outlining key priorities and timelines, ensuring coherence with national strategies. A comprehensive report was produced, documenting the proceedings and outcomes of the meeting, which will serve as a valuable reference in enhancing the overall coherence and effectiveness of DRRM initiatives nationwide.
