Cotabato City – DILG Region IX and the Ministry of the Interior and Local Government (MILG)-BARMM convened in a Joint Agency Transition Planning Workshop to advance preparations for the administrative integration of Sulu Province into Region IX pursuant to Executive Order No. 91, s. 2025.

The activity was attended by Bangsamoro Director General Engr. Khalid S. Dumagay, CESE, representing MILG Minister Hon. Jordan S. Bayam, together with key officials from the Ministry, MILG Sulu Acting Provincial Director Emini T. Kadiri, and Assistant Provincial Director Nermida M. Muksan. Representing DILG Region IX were Assistant Regional Director and Officer-in-Charge Engr. Carmelo Enrique B. Libot, CESO V, along with key regional personnel.

The workshop served as a platform for both agencies to discuss and align transition strategies covering programs, personnel, assets, records, and operational arrangements to ensure the orderly transfer of governance functions and the uninterrupted delivery of public services in the Province of Sulu.

Through strengthened intergovernmental collaboration and shared commitment, DILG Region IX and MILG-BARMM continue to work towards a smooth, coordinated, and people-centered transition that upholds governance continuity and advances sustainable development in Sulu.
