Pagadian City, Zamboanga del Sur – The Department of the Interior and Local Government (DILG) IX officially launched the 2026 National Women’s Month Celebration (NWMC) with a resounding Kickoff Ceremony held on March 06, 2026, at its regional office in Balintawak, Pagadian City.

The event, themed “WE for Gender Equality and Inclusive Society,” served as a clarion call for the region to renew its commitment to fostering an environment where women are not only protected but are empowered to lead and thrive. DILG IX officials, together with personnel from different divisions, gathered to signify their pledge to champion gender-responsive governance in all local government units across Zamboanga Peninsula.

As the DILG IX embarks on this month-long observance, the focus remains on translating national policies into local actions. The message was clear: building an inclusive society starts with each office, each program, and each individual committing to break biases and ensure that the women of Region IX are given every opportunity to shine.
