Piñan, Zamboanga del Norte – The Department of the Interior and Local Government (DILG) IX concluded its 18-Day Campaign to End Violence Against Women (VAW) with a meaningful culmination activity on December 09, 2025, at the Manuel Resort, Piñan, Zamboanga del Norte.
Men Opposed to Violence Everywhere (MOVE), a group composed of male employees of DILG IX, reaffirmed their advocacy for a violence-free community by leading a Pledge of Commitment showcasing their dedication to gender equality. The activity highlighted the crucial role of men as partners and allies in addressing gender-based violence and promoting respectful, equitable relationships.
MOVE members vowed to actively uphold the rights, dignity, and safety of women and girls by speaking out against all forms of abuse and promoting positive change in their workplaces, homes, and communities. The pledge underscored their dedication to fostering a culture of accountability, compassion, and gender sensitivity.
This initiative forms part of the broader 18-Day Campaign to End VAW, a national advocacy effort that aims to raise awareness, inspire action, and strengthen multi-sectoral collaboration in combating violence against women. Through this commitment, MOVE continues to demonstrate that ending VAW is not solely a women’s issue—it is a shared responsibility that requires the full support and participation of all members of society.
