Zoom Teleconference – The Department of the Interior and Local Government (DILG) Region IX successfully conducted the Dagyaw 2026 Open Government Coordination Meeting on May 25, 2026 at 1:30 PM via Zoom platform in support of the Philippine Agenda for Localization of the Open Government Partnership (PH-OGP Localization).
The activity formally opened with a message from Engr. Carmelo Enrique B. Libot, CESO V, Assistant Regional Director and Officer-in-Charge of DILG Region IX, who emphasized the importance of collaboration among Local Government Units (LGUs), Civil Society Organizations (CSOs), and community stakeholders in promoting transparent, accountable, and participatory governance.
Engr. Libot highlighted that Dagyaw serves as an avenue for meaningful dialogue between the government and the people, encouraging LGUs to strengthen citizen participation and uphold open government principles in their respective localities.
The coordination meeting gathered participants from the 10 Cohort LGUs to discuss updates on PH-OGP Localization and preparations for the upcoming Dagyaw Town Hall Meetings.
Discussions focused on the significance of Dagyaw as a platform for open dialogue, public participation, and collaborative governance. The activity also emphasized the importance of multi-stakeholder engagement in the implementation of local flagship programs under the OGP framework.
As part of the meeting agreements, participating LGUs coordinated with DILG Region IX regarding the proposed schedules and venues for their respective Dagyaw Town Hall Meetings and committed to ensure the necessary preparations for the successful conduct of the activities.
Through the Dagyaw Town Hall Meetings, DILG Region IX continues to strengthen partnerships with communities and stakeholders in advancing inclusive, transparent, and participatory local governance across Region IX.
