Dumalinao, Zamboanga del Sur – The Lupong Tagapamayapa Incentives Awards (LTIA) Regional On-site Validation and Coaching for 2025 officially kicked off on April 10, 2025 in Barangay Sumadat, Dumalinao, Zamboanga del Sur.

The validation session is part of the Department of the Interior and Local Government’s (DILG) ongoing efforts to honor and promote excellence in Katarungang Pambarangay through the LTIA program. This initiative is in line with DILG Memorandum Circulars 2023-022, 2024-011, and 2024-074, which aim to assess the country’s top-performing Lupon Tagapamayapa at the national level.

During the visit, the LTIA Technical Working Group (TWG) IX, composed of representatives from DILG IX and other partner institutions, conducted a comprehensive evaluation of Barangay Sumadat’s Lupon based on the enhanced LTIA criteria. The team reviewed the barangay’s practices in alternative dispute resolution, community engagement, and documentation, noting the vital role of the Lupon in maintaining peace and resolving conflicts within the community.

Aside from the evaluation, the LTIA team facilitated a coaching session to provide the barangay with constructive feedback and technical assistance. This session aimed to enhance the barangay’s performance and ensure continued success in future LTIA assessments.

The LTIA regional validation and coaching will continue in other barangays across Region IX until April 24, 2025, covering provinces and Zamboanga City. The LTIA TWG IX is tasked with selecting the most outstanding Lupon from the regional nominees to be forwarded to the National Awards Committee (NAC) for further evaluation.
