The long wait is over for eight (8) municipalities of Zamboanga Sibugay when finally the 16 million peso check for the implementation of the Payapa at MAsaganang PAmayanan (PAMANA/OPAPP-DILG) was released on October 31, 2012 at Regional Office, Pagadian City.

The turn-over of the check was initiated by DILG Assistant Regional Director Pedro G. Cuevas Jr. who personally handed the amount to Venancio A. Ferrer, Planning Officer IV and presently the Acting Provincial Planning and Development Coordinator in Zamboanga Sibugay. Witnessing on the said event was the newly reassigned OIC of the Finance and Administrative Division LGOO VI Fiorello G. Elizaga.

By this fund release under PAMANA, the province of Zamboanga Sibugay  can now carry out the implementation of varied projects among the eight identified municipalities as beneficiaries of the said program namely: Municipalities of Tungawan (construction of the bridge Abutment in Datu Tumanggong worth ₱2 M); Payao (road rehabilitation in Bulacan, Kirna,Katipunan and Upper Sumilong totaling ₱4 M); Mabuhay and Kabasalan with ₱3M (livelihood program- cattle dispersal); Naga (₱4 M allocation in upgrading of Sta. Clara and Aguinaldo roads); Talusan (provision of six mud boat equipment, six threshers and 10 sewing machines amounting ₱1M); Olutanga  with ₱1M (livelihood program on Seaweed Farm Production and Animal Dispersal; and Titay  with ₱1 M (construction of jeep and habal-habal terminal and construction of left wing of the gym for  economic stalls/ store).

This fund subsidy was provided to eligible LGUs to finance their economic projects that meet the criteria such as those that are anchored on the goal of sub-regional economic integration, connectivity and development; locally- driven and owned; and conflict sensitive.
