Pagadian City, Zamboanga del Sur – The Department of the Interior and Local Government (DILG) IX took the lead in a noble cause as it spearheaded the DILG AID For A Cause: Ikaw ang BIDA Bloodletting Activity on November 28, 2023. 

Driven by a dedication to create a positive influence on the community, DILG IX organized the bloodletting initiative which encourages individuals to embody heroism through blood donation, steering away from involvement in unlawful drug-related activities. 

During the event, a total of 40 bags of blood were successfully collected, thanks to the overwhelming support from various government agencies. The donors included personnel from the Philippine National Police (PNP), Philippine Drug Enforcement Agency (PDEA), Bureau of Jail Management and Penology (BJMP), Armed Forces of the Philippines (AFP), and the Department of the Interior and Local Government (DILG).

The joint initiative demonstrated a sense of cohesion among diverse agencies, as they collectively worked towards a cause that extended beyond their routine responsibilities. This underscored the significance of solidarity in community service, highlighting the varied involvement of law enforcement agencies and reinforcing their mutual dedication to public well-being. 

The DILG AID For A Cause: Ikaw ang BIDA Bloodletting Activity stood out prominently among the events arranged by DILG IX to mark the 2023 Drug Abuse Prevention and Control (DAPC) Week. Through its association with DAPC Week, DILG IX showcased a comprehensive strategy for community well-being, tackling not only the urgent requirement for blood donations but also contributing to the wider initiative against drug abuse. 

DILG IX extends its appreciation to the donors and collaborating agencies for their steadfast support, embodying a spirit of cooperation and dedication to community service. The achievement of this bloodletting initiative stands as evidence of the positive outcomes attainable when government agencies unit in pursuit of a shared objective. DILG IX is steadfast in its dedication to cultivating a community that is both safer and healthier for everyone.
