Office of the President Adviser on Peace, Reconciliation and Unity (OPAPRU) facilitated the conduct of Regional Friends Rescued Summit in partnership with DILG Regional Office IX on October 7, 2022 at 1st Infantry “Tabak Division” Labangan, Zamboanga Del Sur.

The Regional FR Summit is part of the Start-Up Activities for the implementation of the Transformation Program (TP) being piloted in Region IX. It aims to institutionalize the FR organization at the regional level. During the said activity, the Regional Action Plan on TP for former rebels, their families, and communities was presented.

Further, the activity was highlighted with the Oath-Taking ceremony of the newly-elected officers of the Regional FR Organization led by Secretary Carlito G. Galvez, Jr., the Presidential Adviser on Peace Reconciliation and Unity.

Gov. Victor J. Yu of Zambonga Del Sur, RD PAISAL O. ABUTAZIL, CESO III of DILG IX, RD NOEMI EDAGA of PIA IX and ARD MARIFE GUERRERO of NEDA IX and some other Regional Directors of the line agencies are also present during the activity.

Moreover, Governors of Zamboanga Peninsula and Misamis Occidental manifest their commitment to the program.

The summit ends with the signing of Peace Commitment to seal their pledge in the implementation of the Transformation Program for Friends Rescued and the awarding of immediate assistance package by OPAPRU and other agencies.
