The Department of the Interior and Local Government – Zamboanga del Sur Provincial Office officially commenced the month-long Local Government Month Celebration through a Motorcade and Kick-Off Ceremony on October 10, 2022 in Pagadian City.

The Ceremony which was held at the Provincial Government Center in Dao, Pagadian City was attended by Zamboanga del Sur Governor, Victor J. Yu as the Keynote Speaker; Zamboanga del Sur 1st District Congresswomen, Divina Grace C. Yu, DILG IX Regional Director, Paisal O. Abutazil, CESO III; DILG-ZDS Provincial Director, Moh. Taha S. Arakama; local officials from the 27 component LGUs; National Government Agencies Representatives and DILG Regional, Provincial and Field officers and other personnel.

Highlighted in the activity is the presentation of DILG Accomplishments for the 1st Semester of 2022 and the Gains of Devolution.

As part of the activity, PD Moh. Taha S. Arakama also discussed some briefers about local legislation in order to reorient the local officials present on key principles relative to the legislative process.
