Regional weeklong activity in connection to the National Crime Prevention Week culminated successfully thru a closing program held at Executive Hall in Pagadian City on September 7, 2012
after a series of lined-up activity set by the NCPW Interagency Technical Working Committee.
The event commenced on Monday with a motorcade, awareness drive on crime and drug abuse prevention thru symposium in selected public high schools, Media Forum, banner streaming, localized radio/TV guestings among others.
During the culmination, the National Police Commission Region IX headed by Regional Director Atty. Macapado T. Guro and Pagadian City Mayor Samuel S. Co acknowledged the active participation and involvement of different offices and distributed to them their certificates of appreciation to the offices of DILG , PNP, BFP, BJMP,CLGU ,NGO and other departments/agencies that manifested their full support to the endeavor.
In his message, Mayor Co emphasized that the theme, “Sa Crime Prevention may Magagawa Ako” speaks of everyone’s responsibility toward the maintenance of peace and order and pointed out that it can only be effective if all the concerned individuals will perform their civic duties to work together in crime prevention hand in hand. He also congratulated the effort of the law enforcement body in their vigilant move in combating against crime despite their limited number of uniformed men and also other agencies which showed that they were also peace-loving citizen. He ended his line saying, “Peace and development are inseparable twins. They must go together”.
