January 11, 2023. – Regional Director Emerson L. Margate of the Philippine Drug Enforcement Agency Regional Office IX conferred as Drug-Free Workplace to Department of the Interior and Local Government Regional Office IX. DILG IX Regional Director Paisal O. Abutazil received the marker which was immediately installed at the entrance of the edifice.

During the short program, RD Margate congratulates RD Abutazil for his steadfast actions in leading the agency in supporting the government’s war against illicit drugs. RD Abutazil gladly accepted the marker and reiterated DILG IX’s strong commitment to fight illegal drugs.

Being conferred as a drug-free workplace was not an easy path. DILG IX has complied with the necessary requirements as laid down by PDEA including but not limited to mandatory drug testing of all officials and employees. The conferment is a strong manifestation of DILG IX’s commitment to uphold the time-honored principle of “Public Office is a Public Trust and that public officials and employees must at all times be accountable to the people.
