April 19, 2023 | The Department of the Interior and Local Government IX, Department of Labor and Employment IX, and Department of Trade and Industry IX convened through a virtual platform to discuss their plans for the forthcoming training of Local Government Units (LGUs) on the creation of Workforce Development Plan (WDP) and Local Investment and Incentives Code (LIIC).

The meeting aimed to prepare for the training, which is set to occur in May, and ensure that everything is in place for the successful execution of the program.

The DOLE, DTI, and DILG Ease of Doing Business (EODB) Focal Persons graced the virtual coordination meeting, imparting their knowledge and valuable insights. The meeting tackled the proposed agenda for the forthcoming training, stimulating lively discussions and eliciting constructive feedback from the attendees. To guarantee the success of the training, responsibilities were delegated to the collaborating agencies and provincial focal persons (PFPs).

The training intends to endow LGUs with essential expertise and proficiencies to craft their WDP and LIIC, which in turn will attract in more investments and generate additional job prospects within their localities. The WDP will enable LGUs to recognize the demands of their workforce, while the LIIC will offer incentives and backing to potential investors who aspire to establish enterprises in the region.

The joint efforts of the Department of the Interior and Local Government IX, Department of Labor and Employment IX, and Department of Trade and Industry IX manifest their unwavering dedication to extending the essential support and aid to the LGUs, enabling them to cultivate their local economies and enhance the welfare of their residents.
