Pagadian City, Zamboanga del Sur – The Department of the Interior and Local Government IX exemplified its steadfast dedication to disaster preparedness and the safety of local communities through its enthusiastic participation in the 3rd Quarter National Simultaneous Earthquake Drill last September 07, 2023. 

All personnel from the DILG IX Regional Office united to actively engage in this nationwide event. This substantial effort was directed toward guaranteeing the readiness of government agencies and local communities to respond efficiently in the case of a seismic catastrophe.  

The earthquake drill served as a poignant reminder of the significance of being prepared and well-coordinated in times of emergencies. It provided an opportunity for DILG IX personnel to rehearse their response protocols and assess the effectiveness of their evacuations strategies. This hands-on experience proved to be immensely valuable, not only sharpening their abilities but also strengthening their dedication to protecting the welfare of the communities under their care. 

DILG IX’s enthusiastic participation in the 3rd Quarter NSED underscores its commitment to fostering disaster resilience and safeguarding the well-being of its personnel. Reflecting on this event, we recognize the pivotal role that preparedness plays in protecting lives and property when facing critical situations. 

As we progress, the DILG remains resolute in its dedication to equipping communities with the necessary knowledge and resources to confront the difficulties presented by natural disasters. We are unwavering in our pursuit of ongoing enhancement, collaboration with our partners, and reinforcement of our collective capabilities to respond adeptly to any potential disaster.
