Ipil, Zamboanga Sibugay – April 18, 2024 – The Department of the Interior and Local Government (DILG) IX recently organized the Regional Cascading of the DILG Strategic Plan for FY 2023-2028 on April 18, 2024, at Badsbrotel Suites, Ipil, Zamboanga Sibugay. The objective was to distribute and ensure the harmonization of the Department’s strategic direction within the region. 

The event started with a welcome address by Regional Director Paisal O. Abutazil, CESO III, emphasizing the strategic plan’s significance in steering the Department’s direction over the next five years. 

Alvin Rex M. Lucero, head of the Local Government Capability Development Division (LGCDD), delivered a presentation on Charting the Course, Designing the Future: The DILG Strategic Plan 2023-2028, offering insights into the comprehensive aims and targets of the plan. 

Afterwards, Planning Officer III Pamela Grace G. Amantiad gave a presentation on operationalizing the DILG Strategic Plan, stressing the importance of developing clear and actionable strategies to reach the specified objectives.

The attendees then took part in workshops arranged by cluster, concentrating on particular aspects of the strategic plan. Each cluster collaborated to create strategies and action plans, which they subsequently shared with the broader assembly. 

The program ended with DILG Zamboanga del Norte Provincial Director Oliver B. Ombos extending his appreciation to the attendees for their active involvement and dedication to the Department’s strategic goals. 

The event proved to be fruitful and informative, enhancing a mutual grasp of the Department’s strategic direction and guaranteeing alignment at the regional level.
