Pagadian City, Zamboanga del Sur – The Drug Abuse Prevention and Control (DAPC) Week Motorcade and Kick-Off Activity of the Local Government Unit (LGU) Pagadian City took place on November 18, 2024, at the Covered Court, City Hall Complex, Pagadian City. WIth the theme “Prioritizing Health-Based Approach in Drug Abuse Prevention and Control,” the event marked the city’s strong commitment to fostering a drug-free community.

The activity began with an engaging motorcade that signified the collective support of various stakeholders in the fight against illegal drugs. Regional Director Paisal O. Abutazil, CESO III, delivered a message of support on behalf of DILG IX, emphasizing the Department’s dedication to collaborative efforts with LGUs to combat drug-related issues. He called on attendees, particularly the youth, to steer clear of illegal substances and contribute to building a healthier, safer community. 

The kick-off event highlighted the importance of prioritizing health-based strategies in drug prevention and control, aligning with the week’s theme and promoting community awareness and proactive measures against drug abuse.
