Six (6) Local Government Operations Officers II (LGOO) of the Department of the Interior and Local Government Regional Office IX successfully passed the 6-month Induction training (Batch 48) , conducted in Cagayan De Oro City and graduated at Local Government Academy Training Center in UP Los Baǹos, Laguna on May 21, 2014 together with the 110 trainees from the three clusters of the country.

   In region IX-Mindanao Cluster, six LGOOs underwent the training which started on August 2013 at Cagayan De Oro City and culminated on February 2014 including the Field Immersion Practice to the selected Local Government Units (LGUs).

   Trainees who underwent the training and graduated include River Tabada of Provincial Office Zamboanga del Norte, Josephine Pascua of Pagadian City and Lemuel Mejares, Diana Gay Batua, Maria Theresa Alvarez and Augustian Therese Bajamunde all from the Regional Office IX.

   USEC Austere Panadero, Undersecretary for Local Government, emphasized in his message during the Grand Graduation at LGATC, Los Banos Laguna on May 21, 2014, the pivotal role of the LGOO, being the frontliners of the Department in the LGUs, in advancing the department’s mission and mandate towards an excellent local governance.

   He further stressed that the Department will continue to do initiatives and policies together with the training arm of the department, the Local Government Academy, to train more department workers of becoming an agent of change.

    ” Such Induction Training for Local Government Operations Officers (LGOO) is an integral program of DILG to further strengthen its internal and organizational competencies critical in helping its clients address its service delivery functions.” he said.

   Meanwhile, Regional Director Paisal O. Abutazil and Regional Training Manager ARD Pedro G. Cuevas Jr. of Region IX congratulated the six trainees for making it to the graduation without casualties.

   Trainees likewise extend their heartfelt gratitude for the regional Management for the invaluable support given to them.alt

   Notably, the training, composed of four components, include General Orientation of the Department (Component 1); Center Training and Field Immersion (Component 2); Competency Assessment (Component 3) where trainees who have successfully completed the requirements of the previous components are validated for certification through a paper and pencil test and simulated exercises and interviews conducted by a team with extensive knowledge in local governance; and lastly those who pass Component III as certified by the assessment team shall be issued a Certificate of Completion (Component 4) by the Local Government Academy (LGA) which shall make them eligible for promotion to a higher LGOO positions.
