In line with the commitment to sustain and intensify the observance of the full disclosure and transparency among the Local Government Units (LGUs), the Department of the Interior and Local Government (DILG) Region IX facilitated a hands-on training to the municipality of Liloy, Zamboanga del Norte.
Regional Director Paisal O. Abutazil stressed that as a strategy to promote and enhance transparency and accountability practices in the local government units, the Full Disclosure Policy (FDP) was introduced and implemented mandating all LGUs to publicly disclose their finances and other LGU transactions in three (3) conspicuous places in the LGU, website and the print media.
DILG Information Technology Officer Ard Catalino said that the training helped the LGU on designing and developing an LGU-generated website.
“This is actually important that the LGUs have established their own websites so as to facilitate effectively their compliance to the Full Disclosure Policy and the thrust for transparency”, ITO Catalino added.
Hon. Mayor Atty. Felixberto C. Bolando assured that the team developed having been trained as the administrators of the LGU website would continually enhance and upgrade the website for any development.
” This of course will facilitate our compliance to the Full Disclosure Policy where we could post the necessary documents as well as the operations of the LGU”, noted Mayor Bolando.
” Moreover, we want our websites to be more interactive that our constituent would continually be informed and involved.”, Mayor Bolando added.
