How does PAMANA projects change the lives of the people in these identified areas in Zamboanga Sibugay? Check out what are these municipalities and where did they allocate the amount?

IPIL, Zamboanga Sibugay – The Department of Interior and Local Government (DILG) Region -9 downloaded the Php 58.96- M to the provincial government of Zamboanga Sibugay for the identified six recipient-municipalities on January 12, 2015.

These identified municipalities are Talusan with an appropriation of almost P23.5 million, Imelda with P5 million, Kabasalan with P4.2 million, Naga with P21 million, Ipil with P15 million and Roseller T. Lim with P5 million.

 The said amount downloaded is 80% of the Php 73.7-M budget under Payapa at Masagang Pamayanan (PAMANA) 2014 fund intended for peace and development intervention in conflict-vulnerable areas.

As to the allocation of funds, the six municipalities will use it for financing LGU-identified projects on roads, school buildings and water system projects.

Talusan town will use the money for the concreting of some existing barangay roads in the boundary Bualan to Bolingan, and Barangay Kasigpitan Proper; rehabilitation of water supply system level 2; and the construction of four Madrasah school buildings.

For Imelda, the amount will be used for the construction of water system level 2 in Barangay Upper Baluran.

Kabasalan town will use the amount for gravelling of the farm-to-market road connecting barangays Banker to Tampilisan and Diampak to Shiolan.

Naga town is going to use the money for road concreting of junction National Highway to Sitio Singkilon, and Barangay Baga to Barangay Bangkaw-Bangkaw; and rehabilitation of water system level 2 in Brgy. Bangkaw-bangkaw.

The P15 million budget for Ipil town will be used for the construction and rehabilitation of roads connecting barangays Veterans Village, Tiayon and Caparan.

Roseller T. Lim town will use the P5 million for the construction of water supply system level 2 in Barangay Mabini and Barangay Malubal.

DILG Assistant Regional Director Pedro G. Cuevas Jr. personally turned-over the checks to Governor Wilter Y. Palma and was witnessed by Provincial Director Arnel F. Gudio of DILG-Sibugay, and the provincial government staff.

The provincial government will oversee the completion of these projects, after which, the 20 percent remaining of the PAMANA funds shall be released.
