Pagadian City, Zamboanga del Sur — The Local Government Regional Resource Center (LGRRC) Region IX holds Coffee Monday session on Data Analysis and Performance Assessment, facilitated by the Local Government Monitoring and Evaluation Division (LGMED). Simultaneously, the event featured a Strategic Orientation led by the Local Government Capacity Development Division (LGCDD).

This session identified critical challenges faced by Local Government Units (LGUs). Foremost was the pressing issue of a shortage of proficient data analysts within LGUs, significantly impeding the accurate interpretation of data.

To tackle this challenge, participants advocated innovative strategies, including leveraging external expertise and incorporating cutting-edge technologies like Artificial Intelligence (AI) to enhance data analysis capabilities.

However, the seamless implementation of these innovations hinges on reinforcing the existing pool of statisticians within LGUs. This entails allocating financial resources and executing structured capacity development initiatives, which are essential for a successful rollout.

The session also underscored the need for preparatory measures, such as regular consultations with experts and phased pilot testing for AI-based data analysis and evaluation.

Moreover, a Strategic Orientation was conducted to provide an in-depth understanding of the objectives and operational processes of the LGRRC, and it also aimed to recalibrate LGRRC IX’s vision, ensuring alignment with the current demands and challenges in local governance.

The August Coffee Monday Session and Strategic Orientation stand as a testament to the collaborative effort towards revolutionizing local governance. With a keen focus on tackling crucial challenges and integrating state-of-the-art technologies, LGUs in Region IX are primed to elevate their operational prowess, ushering in a new era of efficiency and effectiveness in their programmatic functions.
