Students from Ateneo de Zamboanga University (ADZU) bagged the Department of the Interior and Local Government Zamboanga Peninsula Region Federalism Debate Championship last September 26, 2018 at Grand Astoria Hotel, Zamboanga City.

ADZU bested four other colleges in the region namely; Western Mindanao State University (Main Campus), Western Mindanao State University – Pagadian, Josefina H. Cerilles State College – Pagadian, and the Zamboanga State College of Marine Sciences and Technology.

Organized by the DILG IX, the competition was to bring into light the issues and discussions on Federalism and as to its structure, form, and substance to the schools and universities in the region.

Regional Director Paisal O. Abutazil expressed his gratefulness towards the participating schools and hopes that schools would also start rolling the discussion on Federalism into their school fora and activities.#
