(DAPITAN CITY)- City of Dapitan of Region 9 received a satisfactory rating in Citizen Satisfaction Index System (CSIS) conducted by the Department of the Interior and Local Government (DILG) in partnership with Jose Rizal Memorial State University as the partner local resource institute.
Based on the survey, the overall satisfaction is about 60 percent. This means Dapitan City government has desired or satisfactory performance as expected.
Citizen’s awareness and availment of the program shows that 54 percent of the citizens are generally aware of the programs and services of the city government while 49 percent of the citizens availed the programs and services.
Dapitanons regarded high importance on all the programs and services under survey.
Specific to each program and services surveyed, health services were rated with high (63%) satisfaction. This was followed with programs for support to education and agricultural support and services both with 60 percent satisfaction among citizens.
This awareness is perceived high on health services (68%), second on environmental management services (65%), third on public works and infrastructure services (62%) and fourth with 60 percent rating on governance and response.
Availing local government programs and services were high on environmental management services (69%) and public works and infrastructure services (78%).
The survey further recommended the LGU to utilize or highlight information campaign to improve citizen’s perception of Dapitan City.
About 150 respondents were asked to rate the overall services of Dapitan City through face-to-face interview and multi-probability selection which generates citizen’s assessment on their perception of the services and programs of the City.
DILG Regional Director Paisal O. Abutazil said that the CSIS is part of the Department’s initiative in helping the LGU to improve the delivery of local services in terms of availment, awareness, assessment and importance of the program.
The result was presented in the presence of Local Chief Executives, sangguniang members, and department heads of Dapitan City on December 17, 2014.
