“Water is life”
This immortal statement reverberated from the mouth of beneficiaries who expressed their heartfelt thanks to the Department of the Interior and Local Government (DILG) region 9 during the turn-over ceremony of Php 6.2 Million design and build scheme project on source development water system in Upper Pulacan, Labangan , Zamboanga del Sur on November 6,2014.
Witnessed by local officials, head of offices, representatives from Tabak Division, Barangay Officials, Purok representatives and residents, the turn-over ceremony was likewise graced by the presence of the DILG Regional Director Paisal O. Abutazil and the Regional Project Development and Management Unit engineers.
Warmly welcome by the Liga President Hon. Jesus L. Daoala, he said that they were very much thankful to all the agencies that constitute the Salintubig program.
“Natutugunan na ang matagal na minitmithi at pinapangarap ng mamamayan na magkaroon ng malinis at masaganang tubig sa bawat tahanan dito sa Labangan, he added.
Likewise, Municipal Mayor Hon. Marlon B. Valenzuela supported that it was truly a blessing from God given to them and that through the help of the DILG the dream of his people to have safe and potable water is now within their reach.
Meanwhile, Regional Director Abutazil congratulated the local government unit of Labangan for such a laudable accomplishment in their quest to improve and uplift the living conditions of the people in their primordial need of water.
Leaving a word, RD Abutazil said “You can be assured that DILG Region 9 and the DILG at the national level under the leadership of Secretary Mar Roxas, will be behind you all the way in your endeavors and initiatives towards moving to greater heights and championing local governance”
Turning over of the key of acceptance was handed by the Molrow Contractors to the DILG thru Regional Director Abutazil and the DILG likewise turned it over to the LGU Labangan represented by Hon. Mayor Valenzuela.
Signing of the certificate of acceptance marked an end to the event.
