Let’s accept the truth, there’s no more distinction between man and a woman except the biological differences but when it comes to rights and privileges, all are counted.
This is the essence of thought among the focal persons who oriented the DILG regional personnel that includes the division, unit, section chiefs of the Department on January 20, 2015 at DILG IX Conference Room, Pagadian City.
“ GAD implementation , according to Assistant Regional Director Pedro G. Cuevas Jr, has faced various issues on its budgeting allocation as well as its attribution. Hence, the said orientation would address and provide awareness on how the GAD budget would be spent as well as its specifications”.
According to him, “ the DILG is in two fronts as GAD implementers and also responsible in reviewing the GAD Plans and Budgets of the local government units. It is imperative therefore that the Committee in the Regional GAD Focal Point System (RGFPS) be oriented on the provisions and policies under the GAD”.
Likewise, Emma T. Albarico, the OIC-Chief of the Local Government Capacity and Development Division (LGCDD), pointed out the need to eradicate the stereotyping among men and women as they both shared the same rights and privileges.
In a discussion on GAD Plan and Budget on what to review and how to review, GAD Regional Focal Person Dihsie R. Lauron emphasized that there shall be no program included in the GAD without passing the Harmonize Gender and Development Guidelines, (HGDG) a tool that determine the adequacy of Gender responsiveness and sensitivity of a certain program.
Expected also on the meeting is the reconstitution of the Regional GAD Focal Point System and formulation of RGFPS Policies.
