In line with the government’s thrust of alleviating poverty, the Department of Interior and Local Government 9 continues to drive Local Government Units to comply requirements needed for the release of project funds.
In January alone, the Department has released a total of more than 29 Million Pesos to 7 LGUs for projects under Bottom-Up Budgeting and Salintubig Programs.
On January 11, 2016, Isabela City received 1,316,000 pesos under BuB Water 2015. On January 13, 2 Municipalities from the Province of Zamboanga del Norte received their project funds. The Municipality of Kalawit was awarded with 2 Million Pesos project fund under BuB 2015 Water. The Municipality of Sibuco was awarded with 3 checks. The checks amount to Php 3,864,000, Php 1,624,000 and Php 847, 059.20. The checks are under BuB 2015 Water, BuB 2015 Other Infra and BuB 2014 Water, respectively. The Municipality of Godod was also awarded with 6.4 Million peso Salintubig Project fund on January 14. 2.2 Million pesos under BuB 2015 – Other Infra was released on January 15 to the Municipality of Dimataling. The last two checks were released on the 20th and the 25th. The Municipality of Aurora received their check amounting to 1 Million pesos under BuB 2015 Water on the 20th and The Municipality of Dumalinao was awarded with a 10 Million peso check on the 25th. The check that was awarded to Dumalinao is also under BuB 2015 Water.
All the released checks are first tranche releases for each project. The 2nd tranche funds will be available after the municipalities have completed the first phase of the project implementation and has complied with the additional requirements.
Each of the projects are expected to help improve the lives of their constituents.
