Pagadian City, Zamboanga del Sur – On November 30, 2023, the Department of the Interior and Local Government (DILG) IX took an active role in the event themed “Drug-Free Workplace: Fostering a Healthy and Productive Environment For All,” which transpired at JH Cerilles State College – Pagadian Campus located in Pagadian City, Zamboanga del Sur. 

The occasion was honored by the attendance of distinguished guests, among them Campus Administrator Dr. Joel M. Sabellano, alongside the committed faculty, staff, and eager students from JH Cerilles State College – Pagadian Campus. 

The main objective of the event was to highlight the significance of upholding a workplace free from drugs, underscoring its pivotal role in establishing a healthful and efficient environment for all participants. DILG IX demonstrated a strong commitment to endorsing endeavors that enhance the welfare of both communities and individuals. 

Agent Ingrid E. Radaza, the Assistant Provincial Officer from the Philippine Drug Enforcement Agency (PDEA) in Zamboanga del Sur, played a pivotal role as the esteemed resource person during the event. Agent Radaza shared valuable insights and brought her expertise to illuminate the importance of preventing and controlling drug abuse. 

This involvement is in line with DILG IX’s dedication to cultivating a community devoid of the harmful consequences of substance abuse. It serves as evidence of the department’s unwavering commitment to advocating for programs that elevate the safety and general welfare of communities in the region. 

The event was organized as a component of DILG IX’s comprehensive initiatives aligned with the objectives of the 2023 Drug Abuse Prevention and Control (DAPC) Week. These gatherings reflect the department’s commitment to fostering awareness, providing education, and motivating constructive transformations within communities. 

The DILG IX expresses gratitude to all participants, especially Dr. Joel M. Sabellano, the Campus Administrator, and the JH Cerilles State College community for their active involvement and commitment to the cause. Together, through collaborative efforts, we strive to create environments that are not only drug-free but also conducive to the growth and prosperity of all individuals.
