In its aim to standardized processes, procedures and systems to international regulations, the Department of the Interior and Local Government Regional Office IX has been conducting Orientation on the ISO Quality Management Systems (QMS) to its field personnel in order to ensure that processes being implemented in the regional office and field offices are aligned to the ISO standards.

The series of orientation were held in Zamboanga Sibugay, Zamboanga del Norte, Zamboanga del Sur and Zamboanga City respectively last January 29-February 1, 2018 led by the Regional Internal Quality Audit (RIQA) team and the QMS Secretariat.

The ISO is an independent, non-government organization with a membership of 161 national standard bodies. They give world-class specifications for products, services and systems, to ensure quality, safety and efficiency.

Come August this year, an external auditing team from Anglo-Japanese American (AJA) will evaluate if the region pass all the standards set by the ISO.

Regional Director Paisal O. Abutazil has expressed his full commitment and has said that it is through the concerted effort of every personnel that the region can attain the ISO certification.

The ISO certification would ensure the level of quality of the entire organization. It would improve the consistency in the operation and reduce variation in the processes.

The establishment of QMS or its certification is also mandatory in the grant of the Performance Based Bonus for 2017.
