Pagadian City, Zamboanga del Sur – May 29, 2024 – The Department of the Interior and Local Government (DILG) IX and XII convened a Knowledge Exchange Program at Kalikasan Hall, Hotel Guillermo, Pagadian City. This event was designed to promote collaboration and share best practices between the two regions, emphasizing a range of internal and external initiatives. 

Throughout the program, DILG IX presented their sophisticated internal monitoring systems, such as the Financial Monitoring System (FMS), Human Resource Information System (HRIS), Procurement and Asset Management System (PAMS), and the Barangay Information Governance System (BIGS). They also emphasized the establishment of the Regional Advocacy, Information, and News Team (RADIANT) IX, which is vital for information dissemination and transparency promotion. 

Additionally, DILG IX provided insights into their Library Operations and the creation of Specialized Knowledge Institute on Local Leadership (SKILL) Centers. These centers focus on improving local governance through specialized capacity development programs. The region also covered their CapDev Analytics and Harmonization Activities, which are intended to optimize CapDev initiatives and ensure efficient use of resources. 

DILG XII, conversely, showcased their Consortium on Local Governance, a collaborative effort uniting various stakeholders to enhance local governance practices. They also detailed their CapDev initiatives and public education/social media campaigns, which play a crucial role in raising awareness and involving the public in local governance matters. 

The Knowledge Exchange Program served as an essential forum for both regions to exchange knowledge and identify potential areas for future cooperation. Through the sharing of their experiences and strategies, DILG IX and DILG XII are committed to improving their ability to provide effective and efficient public service.
