“Break the Silence, End the Violence: Speak Up on Violence Against Women and Sexual Harassment”

RT Lim, Zamboanga Sibugay – The Department of the Interior and Local Government (DILG) IX, in collaboration with the DILG Province of Zamboanga Sibugay, successfully conducted the 6th episode of Layag sa Barangay on November 25, 2024, in Katipunan, R.T. Lim, Zamboanga Sibugay. This episode was part of the kick-off ceremony for the 18-Day Campaign to End Violence Against Women and Their Children (VAWC), emphasizing the importance of raising awareness, particularly at the grassroots level.

The episode, titled “Break the Silence, End the Violence: Speak Up on Violence Against Women and Sexual Harassment,” served as a platform to advocate for the protection of women’s rights and to encourage communities to actively combat the cycle of violence.

The event was graced by key leaders, including the Regional Director, Provincial Director, Municipal Mayor, and Punong Barangay, who delivered powerful messages of advocacy and reaffirmed their commitment to ending violence against women and their children. Their leadership and dedication inspired the participants to take collective action toward fostering safer and more inclusive communities.
