May 22, 2023 | The Department of the Interior and Local Government IX organized an orientation session on the Universal Health Care Act, with the noble objective of endowing personnel with a profound understanding of the act’s essence.

Leading the way as Resource Person was Dr. Agnes Fernando from the Department of Health, skillfully unraveling the intricacies of the act and illuminating the path for participants.

The Universal Health Care Act refers to a comprehensive legislation aimed at providing equitable access to quality healthcare services for all individuals, regardless of their socio-economic status. It establishes mechanisms for the implementation of a National Health Insurance Program and emphasizes the strengthening of primary healthcare services, health promotion, and disease prevention initiatives. The act seeks to achieve universal healthcare coverage and improve the overall health and well-being of the population.
