One of its key initiatives is the implementation of capacity-building activities to equip its employees with the necessary skills and knowledge to integrate gender perspectives into all aspects of program planning and implementation. Through these efforts, the DILG IX is committed to advancing gender equality and ensuring that its programs, projects, and activities are inclusive and responsive to the needs and interests of all gender.

The primary objective of the training was to advance the process of gender mainstreaming and enhance the proficiency of focal persons in utilizing gender analysis instruments, specifically the HGDG Tool. Its purpose is to guarantee that gender considerations are seamlessly infused into all facets of development planning and implementation.

The training session was attended by focal persons from the different divisions within the regional office. They were imparted with crucial knowledge concerning the fundamental concepts and principles of gender and development, as well as the significance of gender analysis in the planning and execution of developmental projects. Additionally, they were trained on the intricate steps involved in utilizing the HGDG Tool. Practical applications of the tool were demonstrated through participatory group exercises and real-life case studies, providing the attendees with ample opportunities to hone their newfound skills.
