The Department of the Interior and Local Government IX successfully ignited motivation and inspired excellence at the EmpowerED: Igniting Motivation and Inspiring Excellence event held on October 23, 2023, at the Subanen Hall, Garden Orchid Hotel in Zamboanga City. 

The event commenced with an uplifting introductory speech given by DILG IX Regional Director Paisal O. Abutazil, CESO III. RD Abutazil established the ambiance for the day’s activities, emphasizing the significance of empowering and inspiring individuals to reach their maximum potential. 

The event was brimming with enlightening sessions designed to provide participants with the wisdom and motivation needed to lead with a clear sense of purpose and create a lasting influence. Guiding the session entitled “Inspiring Leadership: Leading with Purpose and Impact” was Assistant Secretary for Human Resource Development, Florida M. Dijan, whose invaluable insights and experiences offered valuable direction to all those present. 

During an engaging seminar titled “Cultivating a Growth Mindset: Unleashing Your Full Potential through Creative Thinking,” Professor Mennen M. Aracid, a professor from Ateneo de Manila University, inspired participants to adopt innovative thinking and cultivate a growth mindset as a means to unlock their complete potential. 

The program also included a Continuing Legal Education session led by Atty. Lisanie O. Caprio, the Regional Legal Officer of DILG IX. This session was designed to provide valuable insights into legal aspects pertaining to local governance, enriching the scope of the day’s activities for those seeking to deepen their legal knowledge. 

This event acted as a forum for sharing knowledge, honing skills, and igniting motivation, underscoring DILG IX’s dedication to enabling individuals to create a positive impact within their communities.
