Local Government of Ipil will be starting the water project implementation under Bottom-Up Budgeting (BUB)- fund this year after the Department of the Interior and Local Government (DILG) released the check amounting to Php 4, 550,000.00 on June 24,2013 at DILG regional office, Pagadian City.
Part of the amount is the first tranche release for the proposed subproject construction of water system in four barangays namely: Labe,Timalang, Lumbia and Magdaup of the said town.
In a total amount of Php 9.100M allocation, the LGU Ipil has a counterpart of Php 900,000.00 which has been distributed to the 4 mentioned barangays.
The project is expected to serve 700-800 waterless households in baranagay Magdaup, 43 waterless households in Barangay Labe and 400-500 waterless households in two (2) barangays of Timalang and Lumbia.
Municipal Health Office data record year 2010 shows that there were 127 reported cases of water borne diseases. Through this water system project, it is expected to reduce by 50% water-borne related illness in the barangays mentioned.
“ This release will be a great help to the community ,knowing that water is very important to daily life . We are looking forward to the accomplishment in delivering this service to the beneficiaries” said Pedro G.Cuevas, DILG- Assistant Regional Director who likewise turned over the check to Arnel A. Aclanon, collecting officer of the said town.
Witnessing the turn-over of check were Engr. Moh Ali H. Hasan of the Project Development Monitoring Unit (PDMU) and Fiorello G. Elizaga of Finance and Administrative Division and LGOO V Willibard Paglinawan of DILG-Zamboanga Sibugay.
