Dinas, Zamboanga del Sur – DILG IX recently conducted an orientation and workshop on the Local Project Monitoring Committee (LPMC), spearheaded by Municipal Local Government Operations Officer (MLGOO) Jehanne Lorelei A. Rodrigo. The event convened key stakeholders, including representatives from the Municipal Engineering Office (MEO), the Municipal Bids and Awards Committee, local Civil Society Organizations (CSOs), and other LGU functionaries.

Engr. Mc Allen Barientos led a comprehensive discussion on the LPMC, providing valuable insights into its implementing rules and procedures. His session reinforced the importance of strengthening local capacities to effectively monitor projects, ensuring transparency and accountability in their implementation.

A key highlight of the workshop was the orientation on the FY 2024 Local Government Support Fund – Support and Assistance Fund to Participatory Budgeting (SAFPB), presented by Engr. This initiative reflects DILG IX’s commitment to inclusive governance and efficient resource utilization. By empowering local monitoring committees and fostering civil society participation, the Department aims to ensure that development projects are responsive to community needs and deliver lasting impact.
