The Department of the Interior and Local Government IX Regional Director, Paisal O. Abutazil, CESO III, officially turned over the 2022 Seal of Good Local Governance (SGLG) Incentive Fund amounting to Php 5,000,000.00 to the municipality of Piñan, Zamboanga del Norte. The ceremonial cheque was personally received by the municipal mayor, Hon. Cecilia J. Carreon during the LGU’s flag-raising ceremony on January 23, 2023.

The Seal of Good Local Governance (SGLG) is a recognition-based program for all Local Government Units and is a continuing commitment for LGUs to continually progress and improve their performance.

The municipality has been a five-time recipient of SGLG for the assessment periods 2016, 2017, 2018, 2019, and 2022.
