“ The release of check will speed up the basic service delivery particularly the provision of water to our communities, said Regional Director  Paisal O. Abutazil of Department of Interior and Local Government (DILG), upon  turning over  the second tranche check  in his office on October 23,2013 to Cesar D. Enriquez, OIC- Municipal Treasurer of Dinas.

A total amount of Php 5,947,00.00, being release in two tranches, under  the Sagana at Ligtas na Tubig Para sa Lahat program shall be used for the construction of Dinas Level II water system

At present the project is now 35 % accomplished which started last July 9, 2013 to  benefit barangay  Poblacion, Don Jose and Benuatan of Dinas.

It is important to note that the Sagana At Ligtas na Tubig para sa Lahat (SALINTUBIG) is the lone Program of DILG enrolled under the national government’s Buttom Up Budgeting (BUB) approach which aims to improve the implementation of projects and programs and uplift the poorest sectors in the country. This approach intends to have closer citizen engagement through civil society organizations (CSOs) and the local communities which was done through consultations with the poorest municipalities of the country.

Designed to provide grant financing and capacity development, the  program aims to enhance/improve capacities of the LGUs and water service providers in planning, implementation and operation and management of water supply facilities in a sustainable manner and for the implementation of water supply projects in the waterless municipalities, poorest barangays with high level of waterborne diseases, resettlement areas, and Rural Health Unit/birthing clinics without access to safe water.

Witnessing the turning over of the check were the Fiscal Examiner Elsie M. Galage and Executive Assistant IV Peter T. Abrenica who likewise extend their gratitude to the management.#
