June 17–18, 2025 | Liloy, Zamboanga del Norte
The Department of the Interior and Local Government (DILG) Region IX successfully conducted the activity “Empowering Grassroots Governance: Strengthening Barangay-Based Institutions (BBIs) on June 17–18, 2025, at the Gab Hotel in Liloy, Zamboanga del Norte. The initiative forms part of the 2025 implementation of the Retooled Community Support Program (RCSP) — a flagship program which aims to empower local communities and strengthen the delivery of government services, especially in conflict-affected and geographically isolated areas.
Participants of the training were the RCSP 2025 target barangays from the municipalities of Leon B. Postigo, Salug, Liloy, and Sirawai, who play a crucial role in the implementation of the RCSP. The activity focused on strengthening the capacity and functionality of key Barangay-Based Institutions (BBIs) that are essential in driving local peace, development, and good governance.
This activity reaffirmed the commitment of DILG Region IX and local stakeholders to building resilient, empowered, and self-reliant communities — one barangay at a time.
