Pagadian City, Zamboanga del Sur – The Pavilion Hall of the Provincial Government Complex, Dao, Pagadian City, became a stage for glitz, glamour, and recognition as the 2024 Parangal sa DILG IX unfolded on December 19, 2024. Attended by DILG IX personnel in their finest Hollywood Glam and Oscars-inspired ensembles, the event celebrated the exceptional contributions of the Department’s workforce through a night of camaraderie, appreciation, and acknowledgement.
The evening began with a processional march, where attendees showcased their creativity and elegance. DILG Zamboanga del Norte Provincial Director Oliver B. Ombos delivered an inspiring opening message, setting a celebratory tone for the occasion. Regional Director Paisal O. Abutazil, CESO III, emphasized the importance of dedication and excellence in public service during his keynote message, lauding the unwavering efforts of DILG IX personnel.
Highlighting the vent was the conferment of special awards, recognizing outstanding individuals and teams. Among the notable recognitions were the Bantilan sa Pag-Alagad, awarded to personnel with over 30 years of service, and honors for Municipal Local Government Operations Officers (MLGOOs) who were 2024 Seal of Good Local Governance (SGLG) National Awardees. CapDev ACE Excel finalists also received accolades for their exemplary capacity-building initiatives.
The spotlight shone on the Best Performing DILG IX Personnel, acknowledging excellence across various categories, including Contract of Service, Job Order, Technical Officer, Administrative Staff/Officer, Finance Team, Sub-Local Governance Resource Center (LGRC), Cluster, and Province. Administrative Aide (ADA) I Mario D. Guerrero and ADA I Orlando E. Tarroza were named the Hiyas sa Kahusay (RD’s Choice) Employees of the Year, a testament to their exceptional dedication and performance.
A special moment of the night was the conferment of the Bug-os sa Kabantog Award (Hall of Famer) to City Local Government Operations Officer (CLGOO) Sherrie Charlota N. Machutes, who earned the distinction of Best Performing CLGOO for three consecutive years, solidifying her legacy of excellence in local governance.
The 2024 Parangal sa DILG IX served as a fitting culmination of the Department’s year-long efforts, celebrating milestones, teamwork, and the relentless pursuit of public service excellence.
