FULL DISCLOSURE POLICY

As a strategy to promote and enhance transparency and accountability practices in the local government units, the Full Disclosure Policy (FDP) was introduced and implemented mandating all LGUs to publicly disclose their budget, finances and expenditures, including on-going and completed government contracts and projects.

Disclosures of finances and other LGU transactions are to be posted in three (3) conspicuous places in the LGU, website and the print media.

In compliance thereto, 74 of the 75 total LGUs in Region IX comprising of three (3) provinces, five (5) cities and sixty-seven (67) municipalities are FDP compliant, broken down as follows:

a)      Full Compliance

·         2 Provinces

·         5 Cities

·         62 Municipalities

  1. 69 LGUs

b)      Partial Compliance

·         1 Province

·         4 Municipalities

Total      5 LGUs

The implementation of the Full Disclosure Policy in the LGUs of Region IX showcased  significant changes in the way LGUs view the importance of their roles and responsibilities as local officials and the value of being transparent and accountable to their constituencies.
