Imelda, Zamboanga Sibugay – On October 9-10, 2024, the official formation of the Local People’s Council of Imelda took place on the second day of a Capacity Building Program. Participants explored key topics like the operations of the Local Development Council (LDC), local development initiatives, and soft skills, all aimed at strengthening Civil Society Organizations (CSOs) as key partners in implementing government projects.

DMO III Febie L. Marquez and CDO II Jasten Dwight B. Desierto provided critical technical assistance during the CAPDEV Program, ensuring it aligned with legal mandates while enhancing CSO participation in governance processes.

The Local Government Unit (LGU) of Imelda, Zamboanga Sibugay, spearheaded this two-day initiative to enhance CSO roles in Local Special Bodies (LSBs) and establish the People’s Council in partnership with LGU Imelda. The event was attended by Municipal Mayor Hon. Jerry Domingo Silva, Vice Mayor Hon. Roselyn V. Silva, and other officials, including the CSO Desk Officer, Municipal Planning and Development Coordinator, MLGOO, and representatives from various CSOs.
