The Regional Office spearheaded by the Local Government Monitoring and Evaluation Division (LGMED) conducted the initial assessment for the Seal of Good Local Governance (SGLG) 2016 Regional Calibration cum Regional Conference at Mardale Hotel, Pagdian City on July 12.

Abutazil, CESO III in his opening statement (The activity today is evry important. Through this, we can identify the recepient of the seal of local governance). Apart from the Regional Director Abutazil, Assistant Regional Director Pedro G. Cuevas, Jr. CESO IV, provincial directors from Zamboanga Sibugay, Zamboanga del Sur, Zamboanga del Norte and city directors from Zamboanga, Dapitan, Dipolog, Pagadian and Isabela have convened to conduct the initial calibration.
Initial findings were tabulated for cross examination of the municipalities to easily pinpoint the areas of weaknesses and determined the areas where they failed in complying the required documentary materials. Criteria for the would-be passers include financial administration, disaster preparedness, social protection, business friendliness and competitiveness, peace and order, and environmental management to name a few. The said calibration served as a process for the rankings of the different municipalities in order to identify the recipient for the seal of good local governance in the basis of passing the criteria and completing all the documents as proof.
Meanwhile, 43% out of 23 municiaplities froim Zamboanga del Sur, 28% out of 25 municipalities from Zamboanga del Norte, 6% from 16 municipalities from Zamboanga Sibugay and 40% from the five cities of the region were identified as Post Compliance Passers for CY 2015.
As of July 29, 100% of the LGUs in the entire region have completely conducted their assessments.
The 2016 SGLG National Calibration will push through on August 9-11.
