Pagadian City, Zamboanga del Sur – The Local Governance Regional Resource Center (LGRRC) under the Department of the Interior and Local Government (DILG) Region IX conducted a Deepening Session on SGLG – Disaster Preparedness at the DILG IX Conference Hall, Balintawak, Pagadian City, Zamboanga del Sur, earlier today, January 28, 2025.

The session aimed to bridge gaps and facilitate an in-depth discussion on the critical aspects of disaster preparedness within Local Government Units (LGUs). This interactive workshop sought to identify specific challenges LGUs face in complying with disaster preparedness protocols and systematically explore these issues to uncover any existing shortcomings. By fostering a collaborative environment, the session aimed to develop targeted strategies and capacity-building initiatives to address these challenges effectively, ultimately enhancing the overall resilience of communities in the face of disasters.

The activity was attended by DILG Disaster Risk Reduction (DRR) Focal Persons, representatives from the Department of Human Settlements and Urban Development (DHSUD) and the Office of Civil Defense (OCD), as well as Local Disaster Risk Reduction and Management Officers (LDRRMOs) from selected LGUs.
