Zamboanga Peninsula  – The Regional Project Development and Management Unit (RPDMU) of DILG IX, together with engineers from the Zamboanga del Norte Provincial Office, conducted a series of coordination meetings and technical assistance sessions from October 14 to 18, 2024, in the municipalities of Sominot, Zamboanga del Sur, and Siayan, Gutalac, Jose Dalman, and La Libertad in Zamboanga del Norte. 

The meetings focused on the implementation of water supply system projects under the Local Government Support Fund – Growth Equity Fund (LGSF-GEF) FY 2023. Engr. Alison U. Mayasa, RPDMU Action Officer, led the discussions, supported by Engr. Fahadz Muhaimin, Engr. Ian Signar, Engr. Jowee Salaveria, and PEO II Vivian Quiapo. 

During the activity, the team provided detailed briefings to the beneficiary local government units (LGUs) on the proper project implementation protocols. These included securing the necessary clearances from concerned agencies, conducting potability tests prior to project commencement, and ensuring georesistivity surveys are performed to confirm water availability before drilling. 

Additionally, the RSSA Focal Person rendered technical assistance to LGU encoders, guiding them in completing RSSA documentation and requirements to streamline project implementation. 

The activity underscored DILG IX’s commitment to providing sustainable water solutions to underserved areas while ensuring compliance with technical and regulatory standards.
