LGOO VII Verner Virgilio C. Jayme, formerly chief of Local Government Monitoring and Evaluation Division (LGMED) of DILG Regional Office, made his final assumption to office as Acting Provincial Director of Zamboanga del Sur on August 6, 2013.
In a short program held at DILG Provincial Office, and was witnessed by high ranking officials from the region and Municipal Local Government Operations Officers (MLGOOs) within the province, Assistant Regional Director Pedro G. Cuevas Jr. read the Regional Order on the designation/ reassignment of DILG IX key personnel and the confirmation thru the Department Order No.2013- 524 from DILG Central Office dated July 12, 2013
Regional Director Paisal O. Abutazil , by the power vested upon him, installed Verner Virgilio C. Jayme ,the new Acting Provincial Director of Zamboanga del Sur.
“ Designation of Jayme as new PD does not come in an overnight matter but there have been series of consultation from the CLGOOs, and other FOUs on what to do in the sudden demise of the late PD Abcede Asjali.”RD Abutazil said.
“ We even have conversation personally with Gov. Antonio Cerilles , knowing that the only way to implement smoothly the Department’s thrust is to elicit support from the Local Chief Executives.” he added.
To PD Jayme, RD Abutazil advised to take the opportunity, not wasting the trust given by the management.
PD Jayme, likewise, responded and recognized the rare opportunity given to him to practically serve the whole of Zamboanga Peninsula, recalling his experience in service as the City Director of Zamboanga City, PD of Zamboanga Sibugay and PD of Zamboanga del Norte.
“As I accept this responsibility, I earnestly seek the guidance of the Almighty and ask for his incessant blessing and grace as I pursue relentlessly the mandate of the Department” assured the newly installed PD.
PD Jayme also appealed to the whole manpower compliment of DILG Zamboanga del Sur for their sincere and honest-to –goodness cooperation.
“ I believe that together we could do much and coupled with your dedication to work and your sense of responsibility, I am optimistic that working harmoniously in unison and in cadence we could spill a difference,” PD Jayme challenged.
In closing, PD Jayme reiterated his thanks and gratitude to RD Abutazil, ARD Cuevas and the rest of the ranking officers for gracing the momentous occasion.
Aside from Jayme being designated as the Acting Provincial Director , Local Government Capacity Development Division (LGCDD) Chief Gina Vaño Uy also sit as the OIC- chief of the vacated position of PD Jayme and LGOO VI Emma Albarico as the OIC-chief of the LGCDD.
