Zamboanga City – The Local Government Capability Development Division (LGCDD) of the Department of the Interior and Local Government (DILG) IX conducted a problem-sensing activity in Curuan, Zamboanga City.

The Australian Government, through its Australia Awards program, conducted a training initiative titled “Gender Equality, Disability, and Social Inclusion (GEDSI) and Climate Change Resilience Planning and Change Management.” This program included participants from the Department of the Interior and Local Government (DILG) IX, who were required to develop a Re-entry Action Plan (ReAP) to translate their learning into actionable workplace projects.

In line with the ReAP, a team from DILG IX facilitated a problem-sensing session with actual evacuees from Barangay Curuan. This session aimed to assess and document their experiences at the evacuation center, focusing on their diverse needs related to gender, age, disability, and social inclusion. The collected data will be used to develop a standardized Evacuation Plan that integrates the GEDSI principles into evacuation center management.
