The Development Administration Committee (DevAdCom), a sub-committee of the Regional Development Council (RDC) of Zamboanga Peninsula successfully convened its 4th Quarter Meeting on November 13, 2013 at the conference room of the Department of Budget and Management (DBM) Regional Office IX, Petit Barracks, Zamboanga City.
The meeting was presided by the newly elected DevAd Committee Chair Regional Director Paisal O. Abutazil of the Department of the Interior and Local Government (DILG) IX.
In his opening message, Director Abutazil underscored the vital role of the committee in the attainment of the primary and overall framework and objective of RDC IX which is progress and development for the entire Zamboanga Peninsula.
“As committee, we should work in hand to achieve our goals and realize our vision for the region. Our inputs to the Regional Development Plan, when carefully outlined, will provide a clear and collective vision of what we want to do, where we want to go and what we want to achieve as a region”, RD Abutazil said.
Primary objective of the activity was the presentation of the Draft Regional Development Plan for CY 2014-2016, for comments and refinement of the DeAdCom members. Inputs to the draft plan were solicited from the members of the RDC sectoral committees in a separate workshop.
With DevaDcOM covering three (3) RDP chapters, Chapter 1- Macro-Economic Policy, Chapter 5-Good Governance and Rule of Law and Chapter 7-Peace and Security, repectively, inputs to the draft plan were presented by Susan Valerio, NEDA Division Chief and DevAdCom Secretary to the 35-member committee.
Issues and concerns raised during the Committee meeting will be presented to the RDC IX meeting scheduled on November 19, 2013 in Pagadian City.
