Pagadian City, Zamboanga del Sur – The 2024 Regional Anti-Drug Abuse Council (ADAC) Performance Awards honored the exemplary contributions of Local Government Units (LGUs) in the fight against illegal drugs on December 05, 2024, at Subanen Hall, Provincial Government Complex, Dao, Pagadian City. 

The event opened with a welcome message delivered by Hon. John C. Regala, Sangguniang Panlalawigan Member of Zamboanga del Sur’s 2nd District, on behalf of Provincial Governor Hon. Victor J. Yu. In his message, BM Regala underscored the province’s unwavering commitment to curbing illegal drug activities and fostering drug-free communities.

DILG IX Regional Director Paisal O. Abutazil, CESO III, introduced the Guest of Honor and Keynote Speaker, Maharani R. Gadaoni-Tosoc, Regional Director of the Philippine Drug Enforcement Agency (PDEA) IX. RD Gadaoni-Tosoc, in her keynote address commended the collaborative efforts of LGUs, ADAC focal persons, and audit teams, highlighting the importance of strong partnerships and community-driven initiatives in the country’s anti-drug campaign.

The program culminated with the awarding of top-performing LGUs for their notable achievements in drug prevention and control initiatives. ADAC focal persons and audit teams were also recognized for their dedication and significant role in ensuring the successful implementation of ADAC programs.

This year’s Regional ADAC Performance Awards served as a testament to the collective determination of local stakeholders to foster safer and drug-free communities across Zamboanga Peninsula.
